Sant 'Eustachio Il Caffè – world-famous coffee from a Roman roastery

Founded in 1938, Rome's Sant 'Eustachio Il Caffè is an institution in the coffee world. The roastery is known for its respect for coffee tradition and its first-class quality. Its own café and its products, with their signature yellow look, are famous worldwide.

The café, familiar to many visitors to Rome, stands – as its name suggests – on Piazza Sant’Eustachio, close to Piazza Navona and the Pantheon. Since 1999 the Caffè has been owned by the Ricci brothers, Raimondo and Roberto.

The café roasts its own coffee from selected organic and Fairtrade beans sourced from small, responsible cooperatives in South America. The coffee in the blends is 100% arabica, coming from Brazil, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, Ethiopia and the Galápagos Islands, among others.

The secret of Sant 'Eustachio Il Caffè lies in its own unique blends, born of continuous development, and the small roastery's gentle, distinctive wood-roasted “wood roast” flavour. Caffeine levels are low (1.18%), so you can enjoy them without losing sleep.

Since 2008 Sant 'Eustachio Il Caffè has donated part of its proceeds back to coffee cooperatives in South America to promote fair trade and improve working conditions. According to the Ricci brothers, the quality of the raw material is crucial, and when life is made easier for every family involved in the coffee business, the quality of the products can improve too.
